Masking Protocols

At this time masking is optional at East Greenwich Public Schools for asymptomatic individuals.

  • In order to return to school, a positive individual MUST wear a high quality, well fitted face mask from day six (6) until day eleven (11).

  • It is strongly recommended that identified close contacts wear a well fitted face mask for ten (10) days following the last day of exposure to COVID-19.

  • Household close contacts are required to mask based on their ability to separate from the individual in the household who is positive with COVID-19.

        • Household close contacts who cannot separate MUST mask for ten (10) days from the positive household members day zero (0) of infection.

        • Household members who can separate MUST mask for five (5) days from the last date of contact with the positive household member.

  • Masking will be strongly recommended for all students and staff should the Town of East Greenwich be classified as having high community transmission of COVID-19.

  • All students and staff MUST wear a well-fitted mask in the nurse's office or isolation room when a symptomatic individual is present (THIS INCLUDES THE SYMPTOMATIC INDIVIDUAL).

  • For further information on face masks please refer to the RIDOH WEBSITE.
