1. Forum: School Lunch Program
A forum took place on March 29th to discuss the school lunch program. Representatives from Aramark, Farm Fresh Rhode Island (RI), and RI Healthy Schools Coalition were present to discuss nutrition and the school lunch program. 2. Tufts Health Plan Grant
Thanks to some creative East Greenwich High School (EGHS) students, the EGHS received a $500 grant from Tufts Health Plan to support physical education programs.
3. The Third Annual Eat Healthy Rhode Island

4. "Just Blend"
Bringing fresh fruit smoothies to the students of EGHS. In 2014, school year senior Julia Waicberg came to ARAMARK management and school administration with the idea of opening up a coffee kiosk for the students of EGHS as a part of her senior project. With a little bit of tweaking to meet the RI Nutrition Requirements and grant money as part of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program, a new partnership was formed and the "Just Blend" smoothie cart was born.
5. ARAMARK Celebrates the "Power of Green."
In March of 2012, school food service provider ARAMARK encouraged students to celebrate the "power of green" fruits and vegetables by offering students a brand new entree salad choice every Wednesday throughout the month! New options included an Asian Chicken Salad as well as a Spinach Salad with Chicken and "Green Goddess" dressing.
