EGHS Named as a 2018 Blue Ribbon School by US Department of Education
East Greenwich High School was designated as an “Exemplary High Performing Blue Ribbon School for 2018’ by the US Department of Education on 10/1/2018. We are honored by this recognition which, according to USDOE publication, was last attained by EGHS in 1983-84. The achievement of award is a testament to the years of hard work and excellence that countless students, faculty, staff, parents, and administrators have strived to achieve every day-- both inside and outside of the classroom. It is a wonderful tribute and validation of the efforts we take to achieve our mission to “take risks in order to inspire learning and discover passions.”
It is my honor as principal of East Greenwich High School to thank everyone in our community for their support of our students, our school, and our mission. Without your unwavering support this award would not be possible.
EGHS/Cole Distance Learning Plan- Phase 1 (Community Synopsis click here)
Beginning on last Friday’s district Professional Development Day and continuing throughout this past week, teachers and administrators across the district have been tirelessly preparing for our first week of "Distance Learning". The plans I have seen, the conversations that I have engaged in, and the planning that I have been a part of all have one thing in common-- they put the well-being of our students first. It is why I am confident in saying we will be successful in overcoming whatever challenges lie ahead in the wake of these unprecedented times and circumstances.
The upcoming implementation of Phase 1 will undoubtedly highlight both successes and shortcomings of our Phase 1 Distance Learning plans. Please know that all district stakeholders are committed to learning, iterating quickly, and using Phase I implementation to improve our Distance Learning plans and operations. It is with this in mind that I thank you in advance for your help and patience as we navigate this new educational landscape.
We will be sending out additional communications as we progress in our new daily operations, and as Phase II plans and considerations continue to develop. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns.
On behalf of everyone at East Greenwich High School, I thank you for your support of our students, faculty, staff, school and mission.
Stay safe Avengers.
